Overview

S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ was founded durring the early 16th century in fall of the year 1505, by Glepî. The establishment of S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ was built using the conventions of Rattu durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ is was constructed arround several narrow split-log ties mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The city is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the city's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The city's top tier civilian fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the city's defences.

S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ’s streets. In spite of this, quite a few people can be seen reading and the city has an abundance of libraries. It’s quite clear the community values education.

Cultural Notes

S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

Points of Interest

While private tutelage of worthy apprentices can be had even in most remote villages, S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ is home to a proper school dedicated to teaching magic. Such schools are usually small, with no more than a few dozen pupils, most of whom will fail for lack of talent or discipline. The instructors are rarely first-rate, usually serving only for the pay and status, but sometimes a genius sorcerer will find a reason to observe likely apprentices here. Given the unfortunate accident potential of the school, it’s probably isolated or well-fortified.

Due to a magical anomaly, S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ is directly accessible from a nearby river, despite the lack of a physical connection between the town's pond and the river.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Fiëd-atlo̠tke Woodlands was struck by a drought when Tarn Dora grew too small to continue feeding Backwater Serene, which reduced the available water supply nationwide, but was especially harsh in the area arround S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ. As the neighboring regions had no water so spare, S̺ûhya Hâ Kâchyâ lost 203 people, and 353 livestock in the disaster.. The drought lasted for 1 weeks, which are remembered as the Agony Thirst.
